The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

Option plans for the Golden Rule. First, the people who have the gold make the rule. Secondly, whoever has the money, has the power. Thirdly, "In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. . .." Matthew (7:12). The first two options lead to uncivil behaviors, and the last offers hope for civility.
