People need a dose of lightheartedness.  Most people do not live on Sesame Street, where "Everything's A-OK." Maybe it's time to move to an actual street called improving daily.   Nothing is perfect, but all things are good to those improving.

Making mountains out of molehills is not a good idea.   If you have ever made a bigger problem than it is, you are not alone. We all do it. Remember, real or not, big or small; issues will come and go. Bottom-line problems help people adapt and become tougher to enjoy and live a fulfilled life. It is what makes life worth living.

Sherlock Holmes

SERMON: Guest Preacher Rev. Jeff Miller

Parable of the Good Samaritan

Theme: "Just Do It"

With all the hardships people go through, it is tough to see the good in anything. Harden hearts quickly see mass shootings, violence, cancers with no cure, road rage, hate, and anger. It's no wonder why people can't see the good. Soften up and look for the good in every situation. Seek good out like Sherlock Holmes and enjoy a positive life.

Small WIN

SERMON: Rev. Pastor Chad A. Kirchoff

Sermon Text:  Isaiah 66:14

You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like the grass, and the hand of the Lord shall be known to his servants, and he shall show his indignation against His enemies.

Theme: "Opportunity"

Rejoice God's people, receive Heaven's overflowing Peace, and be satisfied.

Where FAITH & FITNESS COME TOGETHER:  Of the People; For the People and With the People.

Winning feels good. Wining at; finances, family, and fitness make people happy. However, winning comes at the price of failure. No shortage of setbacks, losses, with heartbreaks. Humble people realize failures, take ownership of mistakes and look for opportunities.   They look for the little wins rather than huge victories.   Small winning every day makes people big winners.

Back to Work

SERMON: Rev. Pastor Chad A. Kirchoff

Sermon Text:  5 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Theme: "Jesus Fit"

Get back to work. Work is essential for mental health. It is one of the best ways to deal with the grief of a loss. Helping people through challenges takes the focus off self and puts attention on others.   Serving others gives a sense of purpose. Grief comes and goes and never really ends.    So, get back to work, help others and let the healing happen.

The Game

SERMON: Guest Preacher Rev. Jeff Miller

Theme: "Expiration Date"

PSALM 3    God has given people a set amount of time to share the love of Jesus Christ.

Stay in the game no matter the score.    Easier said than done; that is true. So what; do it anyway.   Of course, it is hard when you get depressed in the middle of challenges or when people put roadblocks in front of you.   You are strong so keep going! Never stop; never give up no matter how bad it gets.   It won't be easy, so what of it! Pull yourself together and get after it.

Prairie Fire

SERMON: Guest Preacher Rev. Jeff Miller

Theme: "Two Things."

PSALM 8 is our first lesson – a Psalm of David. We begin with David's attention to the heavens. LOOK at the night sky and see what God can create – and He also brings to us His Son.

Where FAITH & FITNESS COME TOGETHER:  Of the People; For the People and With the People.

The famous quote from Albert Einstein, "all of our knowledge comes from experiences." Einstein speaks the truth because God is the creator and provider of experiences.  It is comforting to have a routine; however, when events hit like a prairie fire, people are forced to experience new things.  Ultimately, experiences, good or bad, lead to new contentment, happiness, and peaceful souls.

Normal

SERMON: Guest Preacher Rev. Todd Stock

Theme: "Say it isn’t so."

Pentecost Sunday.  A celebration in the church year of the miraculous working of the Holy Spirit in and through the lives of the first disciples.  We consider this, “The Birthday of the Church.” How does the Holy Spirit move in and through us today?  How can we be the “voice” of the Spirit in people’s lives around us so that they can be pointed toward the gracious love of our Savior, Jesus.

There is no avoiding getting hurt. When trouble strikes, the thing to do is be present and not overwhelmed. No pretending everything is OK. Accept we get angry, depressed, broken, burned out, and disappointed. We are perfectly normal to feel not OK from time to time. God made people of flesh and blood, with human emotions, not robots.

Perfectionism is a beautiful trait.  Yet wanting everything to be perfect is not.  Just do it instead of overthinking, stop worrying, no waiting for things to be perfect; they won't be.  Get going as if everything will work out, even if you don't know the outcome.

A proverbial saying, 'every cloud has a silver lining.'  The idea is that, no matter how bad a situation is, there is always something good to come from it.   It is a term of endearment to encourage people going through a difficult time.   In short, keep your head above the water line and paddle hard.
